Port Louis, la Ville Citadelle
Discover the Port-Louis citadel located at the tip of the Lorient roadstead.
Built at the end of the 16th century by the Spaniards, the Port-Louis citadel now houses the Compagnie des Indes museum of the city of Lorient and the national naval museum.
The citadel has retained two bastions accessible by a small bridge.
Take a walk along the covered way, some cannons are still turned towards the island of Groix.
The citadel offers a beautiful view of the Pointe de Gâvres and the traditional fishermen's houses in the port of Loc-Malo and the Pointe.
